October bride Nicole loves all things vintage and scrolls..lol. She immediately fell in love with the Petit Trianon programs in the Etsy store and wanted to build a suite around it in different shades of brown. I LOVED her idea of wanting her menu open up like a booklet in order to incorporate more design elements to it. You can see the cover pictured here...hope you all like!

Theme, if any

I searched high and low for a wedding theme but I couldn’t stick to just one thing.

I loved everything I saw and none if it went together! So I decided to just stick with the one thing I knew I couldn’t be without: the color BLUE. It is my favorite color and also my mother’s wedding color.

Describe your wedding dress and why you chose it

I had always been in love with the wedding dress designer Eve of Milady. All of their dresses are stunning! The first day I went dress shopping I saw it in the window and I just KNEW that was MY dress! I tried on a few dresses but that one was the one that gave me that “feeling” all brides talk about with regards to their dress. It’s made of duchess silk satin with tons of beautiful appliqué/beading detail. The back of the dress is amazing!

Your Favorite Wedding Detail

My centerpieces! I had white flowers and pearly white tablecloths and was afraid my centerpieces would drown in all the white. My florist, John at Flower Michele, came up with the idea to add blue LED lights and cellophane to the inside of each vase. I couldn’t quite picture it at first but I knew he was a flower genius and trusted any idea he threw at me. When I saw the outcome I almost cried. It was PERFECT! Simple, elegant and beautiful!

The Moment You Remember The Most

Wow, do I have to pick just one? No way! LOL

Moment #1: I had my dress on and was ready to walk out of my bedroom, Dominic of Twelfth Night Photography came in and said “Ok, when you walk to the living room I’m going to get pictures of your father looking at you for the first time”. I don’t know what it was about what he said but I broke down in tears! I turned around and went into the bathroom and had a mini breakdown! Francesca of Dazzling Affairs made sure I had my moment and that no one disturbed me. She told me to take my time and let it out. I remember telling her “I can’t do that. I just want to walk out”. When I finally did walk into the living room, Dominic made a quick joke that made me laugh and forget about my emotional moment. It was helpful to have such a great team at my side!

Moment #2: Walking into the church and looking down the aisle at my husband and looking around at all my friends and family.

Moment #3: Watching the video trailer the videographer created DURING the reception and was played while everyone had dessert. Another moment I had tears in my eyes! Travis of Mittermax created an amazing trailer! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr6duwG76-A&feature=related)

One thing you would change knowing what you know now

The only thing I would change is trying not to stress and worry so much about all the things that in the end did not matter. The week of the wedding I was so stressed and so anxious and in the end everything was absolutely perfect!

12th Night Photography

This week's Coquette is June. Her pictures are stunning and I could read her interview over and over, she is hilarious.

Theme, if any:
We definitely wanted an outdoor, daytime wedding. And figured what better way to highlight the outdoors and the daytime than a garden themed wedding! I think gardens and I think bright colors, so when I stumbled across the color scheme of pink and orange, I was head over heels in love (despite being told that it was Dunkin Donuts colors!). If you were to look into the details of the wedding though, I guess you might think our theme was more based off our color scheme - the main "garden" part of it was the fact that we got married in the gardens at our reception hall. But the pinks and oranges were laced throughout the entire hall...from the signature cocktails to the card box, place cards, invites and programs to the cake and most importantly (as my husband would say!) his tie...he was slightly obsessed!

Describe your wedding dress and why you chose it:
As you would say darling, swooon! I love my dress. When shopping my biggest concern was whether my hubs would like the dress I chose. When I asked him what he would pick for me, he had two things to say: nothing big and poofy and if you're going to get a strapless, I don't want to see you picking it up all night because all the dancing is making the dress fall below your boobies! Ha. After seeing myself in a classic "cinderella" dress I knew big and poofy was not the way to go, but I had my heart set on a strapless...which is what I got (and surprisingly, I did not have to lift it once - except for my wardrobe malfunction during the dip at the cake cutting, but that's another story!) It was ivory, had a cascading waterfall skirt, beautiful bead work and lovely lace scalloped the bottom of the chapel length train. The bead work on the back was amazing and made the bustle one of my favorite parts of the dress! It had that antique look to it, so I coordinated all of my jewelry and headpiece around that idea.

Your Favorite Wedding Detail:
The first would have to be my husband's shoes. When he told me about the shoes he was getting, I was floored. But he pulled them off and looked devastatingly handsome! The second would be our table numbers. We used our engagement pictures. The unique detail was that we picked our table numbers at random. I think the numbers wound up being 16, 62, 86, 39, 72, etc...everyone was confused, ha, but doing something goofy like that it totally "us"!

The Moment You Remember The Most:
Total cliche but seeing my husband for the first time. Without a doubt, that moment will forever be engraved in my memory - seeing his face and listening to him tell me over and over how beautiful I looked made every ounce of crazy stressful drama that took place during the planning 100% worth it. In that moment, you remember why you are doing this - because before you stands the love of your life! I have to mention one other moment because it's hilarious! As we were are about to say our vows, the priest is speaking and I see my hubs laughing. I'm appalled, I'm like who laughs at the priest when he's about to have us recite our vows?? Turns out I was in a complete lovey dovey daze...and what my husband (and everyone else for that matter!) was laughing at was...a truck that was backing up in the parking lot and all anyone could hear was BEEP BEEP BEEP. OOPS! At least a good laugh was had by all!

One thing you would change knowing what you know now
Nothing...it was 100% a dream come true. Fantabulous...

I am dying to know more about the wardrobe malfunction and am loving the hubby's shoes!

A Coquette Bride

Our Coquette this week is Allegra. What a gorgeous couple and what a gorgeous wedding. I adore the programs so simple, so chic! Enjoy, Allegra is sure to inspire!

Theme, if any: Our theme was more of a color scheme, bright purple and green, representing nature, spring, flowers... I wanted the wedding to be bright and colorful, and remind you of a beautiful garden. The one theme throughout though, was bows! I love bows, and knew I would have one on my dress, and we ended up using them to accent the wedding from the bridesmaids dresses, to the card box, to the slippers in the slipper basket!

Describe your wedding dress and why you chose it: My wedding gown was a ballgown style, sweetheart neckline, made of iridescent white taffeta, accented with a bright purple sash and big bow. I found the dress on Priscilla of Boston's website, and was immediately drawn to it. It was shown as a big ballgown with a big white bow and tails. I tried it on that day! I knew it was the one, but I didn't want a white bow. I wanted a sash (which wasn't on the original), the same bow from my bridesmaid's dresses, and the same tails from the original dress. Confused yet? The seamstress at Priscilla (Roslyn salon) totally got my vision and was amazing and made my customized gown come true!


Your Favorite Wedding Detail: My cardbox! I ordered it 9 months ahead, and couldn't wait for it! I had For the Modern Bride make it, and it came out amazingly well! The designer was great, and decided to replicate my gown on the middle part of the box. She was great to work with, and the box is still sitting in my living room! I can't bear to part with it.


The Moment You Remember The Most: Trying not to fall down the stairs as I made my first entrance to see my fiance (at the time)! I was terrified I was going to fall! He couldn't wait for me to make it all the way down, and met me up the stairs. It was amazing!


One thing you would change knowing what you know now: The one and only thing I would change, is hiring a multi-camera, cinematographic videographer. During the planning I was very sure that I didn't want a big production made of the video, but now it's my only regret. I did have a videographer, but I wish I had gone with a different kind of company.
